Turenne backs teen in helping homeless veterans

MONTGOMERY, AL. (September 6, 2018) — A local company is lending its support to a student’s mission to help homeless veterans in our community. Turenne PharMedCo, a Montgomery pharmacy and medical supply business donated personal hygiene goods and daily necessities to help a project organized by Junhyung Park, a Boy Scout and student at LAMP. Park is collecting these items to fill bags to give to homeless veterans.

The bags will be distributed during a Friday, September 7 event aimed at helping the veterans with health screenings, jobs and more. When people at Turenne PharMedCo heard about Park’s project, they were so moved that they decided to help the young man and held a collection drive for personal care items and necessities. The company’s employees donated about 1,000 items such as non-perishable food and hygiene products.
“The story about this young man and his project really touched our hearts and we all knew that we wanted to help,” said Lauren Wright, human resources director. “The men and women who serve our nation deserve a helping hand when they fall upon hard times and we want to do our part.”
